"Good design doesn't announce itself — it simply makes every person feel they belong."

The Village represents a rare intersection of high-end hospitality design and Universal Design principles. As Lead FF&E Designer at Ariel Fox Design, I was responsible for the full specification and coordination of furniture, fixtures, and equipment across this 6-story mixed-use development — the first of its kind in Los Angeles designed specifically for neurodiverse adults.

The core design challenge was creating an environment that feels genuinely elevated, not clinical. Every material decision was tested against both aesthetic and functional criteria: bouclé and durable leathers were selected for their tactile richness and high-traffic longevity; color palettes were developed through luminance contrast research to support visual navigation for residents with impaired sight; all furniture silhouettes were specified with rounded profiles to meet ADA safety requirements without compromising the hospitality-driven atmosphere.

Full specifications were directed to meet CAL 117 fire codes and ADA clearance requirements throughout.
