Star Chasing Hall is a flagship retail environment in Hangzhou, designed to translate the brand's "Starlight" identity into a 360-degree visual experience at a high-traffic mall junction.
The core design challenge was merchandising complexity — the store carries a wide range of micro-merchandise categories, each with different display and storage requirements. I engineered a system of seven distinct cabinetry units, each tailored to optimize the display logic and storage capacity of specific product types while maintaining a cohesive visual language across the full retail floor.
On the technical side, I used Rhino to remotely model the site's existing overhead utility infrastructure — mapping piping and mechanical systems before finalizing the spatial layout. This prevented conflicts between the designed environment and the building's existing conditions, a step that is easy to skip on retail projects and expensive to fix on-site.
Sightline analyses were conducted to maximize storefront visibility from the mall corridor, and all mandatory fire-safety equipment was integrated into the digital model before handover to the local installation team.
